Spring Training, New Hampshire-Style
Two things had to happen before the men's and women's lacrosse teams could start practicing the first week in February.
First, men's coach Mark Theriault summoned the KSC snowplow to the Owl Athletic Complex to clear the latest dump of snow. (The Monadnock region already had more than 60 inches of snow at that point, with much more to come.)
Next, he purchased a good supply of orange practice balls, giving goalies a fighting chance to spot the balls against the white background.
Finally, the teams could charge out onto the field. As senior midfielder Colin Barrett put it, "Everyone in New England is practicing in this weather. You have to come out here and just do it." Added Jennifer Lillis, senior midfielder and positive thinker, "Being surrounded by all this snow brings us together." Both agreed that the key is to keep moving.
