News from the KSC Alumni Association

Greetings from your Alumni Association Board of Directors! For a supposedly dormant season, winter has been particularly active this year. The Board has been busy implementing year two of our strategic plan and focusing on connecting with KSC students and alumni – and helping them connect with each other. As an organizational consultant, I know that growing pains are better than shrinking pains. But it has still been challenging over the past two years. In this and future issues you will read about great news at Keene State College as we approach our Centennial in 2009 and more about how the KSC Alumni Association Board is creating opportunities for alumni to be a part of the transformation that is happening.

As an alum, I am proud of the College's commitment to providing access to top quality public education. Also, consider the new awards and honors that President Giles-Gee announces almost every day! From its award-winning Integrative Studies curriculum that defines the basic academic program for all students to internationally recognized service-learning programs and the NCAA-ranked athletic programs that bring success on the field and in the classroom, Keene State College is a powerful piece of the University System of New Hampshire.

I've been involved with the College for many years both as a USNH alumni trustee and now a director on the KSC board. This is an exciting time in Keene State's history. Having a family, work, and many passions, I know from my own experience that there is a lot competing for your time. Whatever you are looking for – career opportunities, networking, helping the next generation of students, community service, or even an investment – your Alumni Association wants to help make it happen.

So let us know what you need, if you have advice for today's students, or whatever is on your mind. We look forward to sharing the progress we make on the strategic plan and fulfilling it, which includes communicating better with you. Believe me, this is something you don't want to miss!
