IT Policy and Procedures The IT Group develops IT policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines in collaboration with the KSC community, the USNH System Office, and incorporates higher education best practices. These policies help clarify the college's expectations of its individual members, mitigate risk, enhance efficiencies, reduce costs and support the college's compliance with federal, state, local, and USNH system laws and regulations. Network Access
Security - The Keene State College Office of the CIO responds to and investigates incidents related to misuse or abuse of KSC information and information technology resources regardless of department involved. These incidents include: network security breaches, unauthorized disclosure of institutional or personal information, loss of a laptop, illegal downloading of music or movies, etc. Reporting Incidents and/or suspected incidents involving sensitive data In the event of an incident involving possible exposure of sensitive institutional or personal data, you must report the incident to the Office of the CIO as soon as possible. Time is critical. Send an email to CIO@keene.edu OR call 358-2526 and leave a message with your name, phone number, date and a brief summary. Do not make any other contact and/or leave messages elsewhere. The CIO will involve the appropriate individuals based on the scope and severity of the security incident. How do I know if my machine has been compromised?
Reporting inadequate protection of sensitive data If you suspect a weakness in the protection of sensitive institutional or personal data, immediately contact the security manager who will coordinate the investigation and react to potential risk. You can report the incident by sending an email to securitymanager@keene.edu. Reporting Computer Network User Policy (CNUP) violations To report a CNUP violation and/or suspected CNUP violation, contact theSecurity Manager. Reporting other types of incidents For urgent need to deactivate account privileges, contact theSecurity Manager. The Security Manager is the responsible party and will involve additional appropriate individuals when needed. For incidents involving personal safety, physical property or illegal activities, immediately contact Campus Safety 358-2228 |
