Faculty needs for digital/video/computer projection are being met with the combination of our media-enhanced classrooms and the faculty laptop initiative adopted in 2002. The laptop initiative provides faculty with the ability to have access to their 'work' anywhere (in the classroom, home, conferences, etc.) In order to support adjunct technology needs each division has a 'number' of MEC's with a PC installed in the Smart Cart. Adjuncts need to be scheduled into teaching spaces with appropriate technology. The scheduling project will facilitate the operational issues of this model tremendously. However, in the meantime, adjunct faculty will need to work closely with admin assistants to be sure they are scheduled into the appropriate classrooms and/or their technology liaison for use of divisional loaner laptops. There are approximately 130 teaching spaces where classes are taught at Keene State College. Some of these are laboratories, some are gymnasiums, and approximately 91 of them are traditional classroom space. All classrooms have one network data port and one cable port in them. Most of the traditional classrooms have overhead projectors and projection screens for showing transparencies and a VHS and/or DVD player. Media Enhanced Classrooms include; two network jacks, ceiling mounted projector, pull down screen, DVD/VHS player, amplifier, speakers, CATV, podium with laptop connection and/or installed PC. Below is a list of current "media enhanced" classrooms. (* indicates permanent PC installed in Smart Cart.)
