Arts & Humanities Computing

a & H classroom

Sandy Grimstad is the instructional technology liaison for the Arts & Humanities division. Sandy's office and A&H production facilities are located in Morrison 112. Sandy provides services, consultation, and training designed to support faculty that use Blackboard, Web, digital content, or computers in their teaching.

A&H specialized labs include 90 computers (PC and Macintosh) within journalism lab, 2 digital film production labs, graphic design lab, electronic music studio, and a modern languages lab.

The Morrison 205 facility includes 24 computers and can be scheduled for course long, technology-based curriculum activity or simply one or two classes during the semester.

24 - Dell Optiplex 320's, 3.2GHZ processor, 1GB RAM

The Morrison 205 classroom includes:

  • Ceiling mounted projector and pull down screen
  • CATV jack
  • White boards
  • Podium - instructor's station with installed PC, DVD/VHS player, amplifier, speakers, document camera, and laptop connection
  • 24 individual student PC stations with MS-Office suite software
  • Laser printer
  • Altiris "Vision" software - provides ability for faculty to monitor classroom computers and enhance student learning. Faculty can broadcast instructor's screen or any screen in the classroom to one student or everyone.
