Mac Necessities: Note - Computers below the recommended requirements may operate within the College's network environment, but the HelpDesk does not offer troubleshooting support for those systems if you encounter problems connecting to the network.

• Operating System: Mac OS X v10.3 (fully patched) or higher
• Hardware: An ethernet card



• Network (data) cable: between 6' and 25' depending on the arrangement of the room.(15' should work in most rooms).
• Software: Make sure that you have your installation disks or CD for your operating system and if you are an on-campus student, you will need the software drivers for your network interface card (NIC).
• ClamXav anti-virus software: Students connecting to the campus network with a Mac are strongly encouraged to install antivirus software. One option available is ClamXav anti-virus software. ClamXav is open source software which is also used by students and faculty at the University of New Hampshire.
