How to Archive and AutoArchive

  1. Go to Tools --> Options --> click the Other tab --> and click the Archive button.

  2. From here you can decide how often to AutoArchive, whether you want to be prompted or not, where you would like the archive file to be located, and whether you want to delete older items in the folder.

  3. Next determine when and what to archive at the folder level. First right-click on the icon for the folder in your Outlook Bar.

  4. Choose Properties and click on the AutoArchive tab.

    You can decide when to archive and whether to permanently delete old messages or to archive them to a file.

  5. To archive manually, go to File --> Archive.
