The HelpDesk is dedicated to the distribution and support of standard technologies used by employees of Keene State College - including desktop computers, major applications, telecommunications equipment, media services and access to the campus network.

| Computers |
All KSC employees are provided with access to a computer workstation. Full-time tenure track faculty are given the option of selecting a desktop or laptop and a Mac or PC. Adjuncts are provided access to workstations located in designated adjunct offices. |

P Drive (personal drive) and Q Drive (group drive) are secure drives on the network where you can store your information. |

| Printers |
Network printers are deployed for each department, upgraded on a 5-year cycle, and supported by the IT Group. Personal printers may be purchased using departmental funds and are not supported by teh IT Group. |

Each building on the Keene State campus is connected to a fiber network that provides fast Internet access. Laptop mobility and wireless local area network (LAN) access is available on campus. |

All KSC employees are assigned email accounts. You can access your email account on campus through Outlook and off campus through the web using Outlook Web Access. The HelpDesk (358-2532) can provide you with your NetID and password. |

All faculty and staff should have a general knowledge of the College's password policies and the Computer and Network Use Policy; knowledge of local, state, and federal laws concerning copyright and other digital information based topics; and general knowledge about how to use the Internet and everything it offers in a responsible manner. |

| Media Enhanced Classrooms & Media Services |
Many classrooms are Media Enhanced. They contain a podium, a VHS/DVD player connected to a data/video projector, and speakers for audio presentations. KSC maintains a satellite dish for down linking satellite programming. CTV is a cable TV Network which includes Channels 63 through 78 used for campus programs.
The IT Group has portable carts with data/video projectors or VHS/DVD players for faculty requiring instructional technology in classroom spaces that do not have the permanently mounted projection systems. Visit the Media Resources web site for a complete list.

The IT Group supports public computing labs & specialized computing labs. Together, these computing labs make approximately 500 computers accessible to students. |

| Installation and Funding of Special Use Software on College-Owned Computers |
Keene State College provides the faculty and staff with a standard set of software for general use, and provides the same software for academic use in the public and specialized computer labs. "Special use" software packages are also made available to faculty and students in the academic computing labs as necessary, and according to the needs of a School or specialized on the KSC campus. |

The college uses the most popular easy to use web based Blackboard Learning System for course management. You are able to manage and share content, perform online assessments, track student progress, make assignments, and conduct virtual collaboration. |

In order to best direct information technology resources to meet these goals there has been developed a (5) year long range plan, a working planning process, and a Fiscal Year plan. |
