Faculty and staff of Keene State College are provided a campus workstation. Full time, tenure-track faculty have a choice of either a desktop or a laptop, and either a PC or a Mac. In addition to hardware, Keene State College faculty and staff are provided with a standard set of software. All College owned workstations are supported by the HelpDesk as outlined in the Hardware and Software Support guidelines.

• Altiris Desktop Deployment client: As part of IT's efforts to increase desktop security, improve reliability, and minimize the need for support, we install the Altiris client on all PC workstations. Installation of this client enables the HelpDesk and DSS to keep pace with the increasing demands upon IT support.
• McAfee anti-virus software (VirusScan): McAfee is part of the standard campus image and is preset to automatically update virus definitions on a daily basis. No user intervention is required.
• Microsoft updates: These are automatically downloaded and installed on all faculty, staff and lab workstations. No user intervention is required.
