National Survey of Student Engagement
The National Survey of Student Engagement is a national survey which assesses the
extent to which first-year and senior students engage in educational practices associated
with high levels of learning and development.
NSSE survey questions include:
- how much time students spend working and studying
- how the students categorize their relationships with faculty and other students
- student participation in class activities
For more information visit the
NSSE Website.
KSC participated in NSSE in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2006. In 2006 KSC participated in The NSSE Challenge
as part of a COPLAC consortium which provided benchmark information for setting aspirational
goals.
KSC will be again participating in the Spring 2008 NSSE Challenge
which will provide benchmark information for monitoring changes in student learning
resulting from implementation of curricular improvements
(NSSE administration will be accompanied by ‘FSSE’ administration).
