Background Review
Dear Prospective Keene State Employee,
As an employer, Keene State College (KSC) has a responsibility to do everything reasonable to ensure that we hire individuals who will make positive contributions to our campus. Conducting Background Reviews are a best practice throughout the country and provide Keene State College with critical information. We ask you to complete the attached forms so that we may conduct a Background Review as necessary for your potential role here at Keene State College.
Important notes:
- The Background Review will be conducted as a post-job offer review only. We will not conduct a Background Review prior to a formal offer of employment.
- The actual appointment will be contingent upon a successful completion of the Background Review. While KSC reserves the right to consider the findings relative to a particular position hire, University System Policy sets a clear standard that no one may be employed at USNH who has been convicted of a felony or violent misdemeanor in the last five (5) years.
- The cost of the Background Review is paid for by the institution. Please disregard any request for fees noted on the NH State Police authorization form.
- If there are findings that may impact your ability to be hired, the Office of Human Resources will contact you directly to discuss the findings, allow you to present additional information or to refute the findings; and then will make a determination. No department representative will be contacted without first notifying you and usually not until the situation is resolved and only if a decision of "no hire" is reached.
- All information will be treated with confidentiality and will be secured at all times to protect your privacy.
- You may request copies of all findings received from the Background Review. To do so, please direct your request in writing to the Office of Human Resources, Keene State College, Keene, NH 03435; (Mailstop 1604)
