At Keene State College, you can provide a living tribute or a memorial for a special person. Whether by naming a tree in the campuswide Arboretum or creating a scholarship for an exceptional student, you can honor a person whose life has touched your own. Keene State’s program of memorial and recognition gifts is a tangible way of honoring someone important - especially a member of your own family or circle of friends. Throughout the years, with gifts ranging from modest to substantial, families and friends of Keene State have established permanent tributes to individuals - an influential professor, for instance - or groups whose collective work has impacted others. Memorial and recognition gifts are visible throughout the campus. Consider the following gifts: A gift of $500 will establish a Memorial/ Recognition Book Fund for the benefit of KSC’s Mason Library. A personalized recognition book plate in the name of the honored person will be placed in each book purchased by the librarians through this gift. A gift of $1,000 will establish a Memorial/Recognition Tree. A bronze plaque with the name of the honored person will be permanently placed at the base of a living tree. A gift of $2,000 will establish a Memorial/ Recognition Bench. A bronze plaque with the name of the honored person will be permanently attached to the bench. A gift of $10,000 will establish a Memorial/Recognition Endowment for program support. An endowment will be established in the name of the honored person to provide support for a College program. A gift of $15,000 will establish a Memorial/Recognition Endowed Award. An endowment will be established in the name of the honored person to provide recognition and financial support for outstanding students. A gift of $20,000 will establish a Memorial/Recognition Endowed Scholarship. An endowment will be established in the name of the honored person to create scholarships for deserving students. These are just some of the ways in which a special person can be recognized. You may also consider other endowment categories. Additionally, naming and recognition opportunities frequently occur in conjunction with capital project on campus, such as the renovation of Mason Library, construction of buildings and classrooms, development of athletic fields, and enhancement of other facilities.
