  • Jesse F. Davis '37 Scholarship Endowment
    This endowment was established in 1993 by Mr. and Mrs. Jesse F. Davis in gratitude for the excellent instruction they received at Keene State College. This scholarship provides financial assistance to full-time students who have chosen music as their major course of study. Eligible candidates must be in their junior or senior year of study and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0. This scholarship will be awarded based on merit first, with consideration for financial need of secondary importance. Given continued eligibility, a student may have this scholarship renewed.
  • Danny Paul Hunter Memorial Scholarship Endowment
    This scholarship was created as a gift from Aubrey S. Thomas, Jr. '62 and his wife, Satoko N. Thomas in memory of Danny Paul Hunter, who exhibited great potential in music, and whose life was tragically cut short at age fifteen. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time students who have demonstrated academic excellence, financial need and the promise of future success in the area of music. Each award shall be for one academic year and may be renewed.
  • Carroll Lehman Award for Excellence in Vocal Music
    The name of this gift fund shall be the Carroll Lehman Award for Excellence in Vocal Music. It was created in honor of the retirement of Dr. Carroll Lehman, Professor of Music and coordinator of vocal studies for 35 years at Keene State College, by his many friends, faculty, and students at KSC. During his career, Dr. Lehman served many roles including conductor, teacher, department chair, mentor and friend. His commitment to performance, music education and study has been instrumental in making the KSC Department of Music a vibrant program in the state of New Hampshire. The purpose of the fund is to provide recognition and give an award annually to a KSC student for excellence in vocal music study.
  • Music Department Scholarship Endowment
    This endowment was created in 2002 to provide new scholarship opportunities to attract, enroll and retain the Music Department's top recruits. The creation of this fund came from an initial gift from The Youth Chorus at KSC, founded and directed by Dr. Gladys Johnsen, Professor of Music at KSC. The purpose of this endowment is to provide recognition and financial assistance to students who demonstrate exceptional abilities and promise in the area of music. Consideration will be given to students who are matriculated and display musical talent and promise. To be eligible, entering freshman must have a high school 2.75 GPA and transfer students must have a college 2.75 GPA. Continuing students must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.75 and a minimum of 3.0 GPA in music courses and will continue to be active participants in the musical life of Keene State College.
  • Doug Nelson Outstanding Concert Band Member Award
    This annual award was established in 2006 in honor of Doug Nelson's retirement. Doug had been with Keene State College for 35 years. In the 25 years that the Redfern Art Center has been open, over 350,000 people have attended performances, art exhibits, taken classes, view films, created works of arts etc. Doug was responsible for bringing many of those people to the Art Center. His dedication to the creative process and his commitment to excellence in teaching have been intrumental in making the Redfern a vibrant home for the arts on campus and in the region. This award will be given each spring to a concert band member selected by a ballot of his or her fellow musicians.
  • Mary E. Yelda '47 Endowed Scholarship in Music
    As a lifelong music enthusiast and a classical pianist the Mary E. Yelda '47 Endowed Scholarship in Music honors and memorialize Mary E. Yelda '47 and provides recognition and financial assistance to a music student at Keene State College. Consideration for this scholarship is given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled as a declared music major. Recipients of this scholarship are selected by a committee of full-time faculty in the Department of Music.
