This Award recognizes annually a student who has shown excellence in writing. Through a generous gift by Bruce LeVine Mellion ('69), the award honors the work of Professor Emeritus of English, Fred Fosher, whose masterful teaching promoted the value of clear, purposeful, and persuasive writing from 1967-1992 at Keene State College. The award recognizes the critical role that writing plays across the curriculum, and the inspired work of students who rise to the formidable intellectual challenge of writing clear, purposeful, and persuasive prose. Applicants must be full-time matriculated students with junior or senior status and will submit a portfolio, which will be judged by a faculty committee of at least five members.
