Keene State College LinksCommon Ground Multicultural Club. The club provides a forum for students interested in the issues of diversity and multiculturalism to get together, provided support, and organize social and educational events that have a multicultural focus. National and International Exchange Center. Opportunities for students to study abroad and at colleges and universities around the United States and in some of its territories. Faculty exchanges are also possible. Keene State College Counseling Center. The Counseling Center offers a variety of personal support services to all students without charge. The KSC Aspire Program. Aspire works closely with Academic Advising and Career Services to assist students in having a successful college career. Most Aspire services are offered to all students; however, a few services are offered only to students who meet eligibility criteria. Useful academic support services are available here. The Elliot Center at KSC. The Aspire program is part of the Elliot Center. Find out about other academic support services here. Residential Life. Residential Life offers a number of programs relating to diversity throughout the year. For a listing of programs, check out their site. Upward Bound Program. Upward Bound is a federally-funded TRIO program that prepares high school students for successful college study. More than nine out of ten Upward Bounders are first-generation college students. Keene State's Curriculum Materials Library. The Curriculum Materials Library makes available a wide range of curriculum and professional development materials to students in Keene State College's education methods courses and members of the New Hampshire educational community. Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays (PFLAG) is a national non-profit organization. DiversityWeb. This site is maintained by the Association of American Colleges and Universities and includes a great deal of excellent information and suggestions about strengthening diversity in higher education. Centre for Workplace Communication and Culture. Dr. Mary Kalantzis was a Fulbright Scholar in multicultural education at Keene State College in 1990-1991. Her husband and colleague, Dr. Bill Cope accompanied her during her year at KSC. When they returned to Australia, she became the founding Director of this research and training center. He is now Director and she is Research Director. Dr. Kalantzis is also Dean of the Faculty of Education, Language and Community Services at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Victoria. Australia is far away, but the CWCC web site offers some worthwhile information from a very multicultural country. Council on Opportunity in Education. The Council on Opportunity in Education is the professional organization of the national TRIO programs. TRIO programs help low-income Americans enter college, graduate and move on to participate more fully in America's economic and social life. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. A Federal agency concerned with the laws pertaining to diversity. The Human Rights Campaign. The nation's largest gay and lesbian political organization working for an America where lesbian and gay people are ensured of their basic equal rights The American Institute for Managing Diversity. "AIMD helps organizations understand the business imperative for managing diversity, provides ongoing insights into the strategic implementation of diversity, identifies and categorizes trends in diversity management, and suggests new areas of research critical to successful application." The Big Picture Company. Dennis Littky (former KSC Commencement speaker) and Elliot Washor are former administrators at Winchester, NH's, Thayer High.
