Yoga

Human Relations Laboratory
This group experience is for anyone interested in learning more about themselves, especially in relationship to others.
Goals:
Increase personal awareness and improve relationships

Choices: A Healthier YOU
Thinking about making a change in your alcohol and drug use
Goals:
*Increase self awareness
*Improve self-confidence

*Meet new people and share ideas

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Support Group
This group creates an opportunity for GLBT students to get together, relax, and talk about issues affecting their lives in a safe and supportive environment.
Topics might include:
*Coming out process, including learned negative messages
*Parent and other family issues
*Dating and relationships
*Life in general!

Grief Group
This group is for anyone who has lost a mother, father, sister, or brother - whether it was an unexpected event or a long term illness. We all, male and female, have our own capacity to experience grief.
Goals:
*To feel better
*To gain perspective and insights
*To develop coping strategies

Growing Up in an Alcoholic Family
Our families have an impact on us, and when alcohol is involved certain patterns often develop. How does it affect your life?

The Self-Esteem Workshop
This group is for anyone interested in improving how they feel about themselves so that they can be more effective in their lives.
Goals:
*Learn how thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected
*Challenge negative self-talk
*Improve relationships
*Feel better!

Men's Discussion Group
This drop-in group will be a safe place to ask questions like these:
Why are men blamed for so many of our world’s problems these day?
How can I be true to my inner guyness without being a jerk?
With all this talk of feminism and political correctness, what does it mean anymore to be a man?

Student Leadership Opportunities


Student Advisory Board
Get involved, advise the Counseling Center. Contribute to student life. Be part of a team. Improve your resume.

Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) Peer Education Program
Work with your peers to end sexual violence. Provide programs (in teams) to various student groups on campus. Trainings for new members each semester.

Critical Incident Support Team (CIST)
Learn more about the impact of trauma, stress and the skills for dealing with traumatic events. Assist the team in the event of a critical incident. Be a liaison between students and the team.

Yoga Mentors
Help educate KSC about the benefits of yoga. Present (in teams) programs for student groups. Study with a Kripalu-certified instructor.
