Human Relations Laboratory
This group experience is for anyone interested in learning more about themselves, especially in relationship to others.
Goals:
Increase personal awareness and improve relationships

Thinking about making a change in your alcohol and drug use?
Goals:

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning Support Group
This group creates an opportunity for GLBTQ students to get together, relax, and talk about issues affecting their lives in a safe and supportive environment.
Topics might include:
*Coming out process, including learned negative messages
*Parent and other family issues
*Dating and relationships
*Life in general!

Finding the Goddess Within
This women's group is designed to:
*Give yourself time to take care of yourself each week
*Create a deeper connection with yourself
*Find your inner voice
*Connect to a sense of spirituality within yourself

*Open your heart, your mind, and your spirit to witness this part of your journey

Growing Up in an Alcoholic Family
Our families have an impact on us, and when alcohol is involved certain patterns often develop. How does it affect your life?

Men and Self-Esteem
Men often experience unique pressures and expectations which can impact their self-esteem. In this 8-session program based on the work of the Relational Life Institute, participants will come to understand, use, and control a variety of skills.
Goals:
*Understand your own self-esteem cycles
*Develop tools for pulling yourself toward healthy self-esteem
*Use your new-found confidence in many settings and relationships

Mindfulness Meditation for the Winter Blues
Beat the winter blues! Managing depression can involve a wide variety of skills and tools, and this group can help.
Goals:
*Increase concentraiton and motiviation
*Recognize and quiet the chatter of the mind
*Switch from automatic to more awareness

Managing Stress & Anxiety
Transitions are seldom easy or simple. This group will help you cope with the changes and stressors of college life.

Overcoming the Food and Body Image Blues
If you are thinking about food and appearance 24/7, this group is for you. Often our negative thoughts lower our self-esteem and create an out-of-control downward spiral. Isn't it time to take care of YOU?
Goals:
*Stop the obsessive thinking
*Enjoy food again
*Feel good about yourself

Good Love Group
This group is for students who are or have been confused by the behavior of a romantic partner.
This group might be right for you if:
*You have often felt misunderstood in a relationship
*You don't want to feel pressured to have sex
*You have been touched in a way that you did not like or hurt you

Student Leadership Opportunities


Student Advisory Board
Get involved, advise the Counseling Center and the Health and Wellness Center. Contribute to student life. Be part of a team. Improve your resume.

Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) Peer Education Program
Work with your peers to end sexual violence. Provide programs (in teams) to various student groups on campus. Trainings for new members each semester.

Critical Incident Support Team (CIST)
Learn more about the impact of trauma, stress and the skills for dealing with traumatic events. Assist the team in the event of a critical incident. Be a liaison between students and the team.

Yoga Mentors
Help educate KSC about the benefits of yoga. Present (in teams) programs for student groups. Study with a Kripalu-certified instructor.

Active Minds
Increase awareness of mental health issues by providing information and resources to the Campus. Encourage students to seek help when needed.
