What is Customized Training?
Workforce development is vital to the economic vitality of an organization and region. Customized training provides employers and opportunity to utilize the resources of the college to develop and teach courses and workshops in job-related skills for professional enrichment.
Employers have access to a wide range of Customized Training courses, from the use of popular computer software such as Microsoft Word to career planning.
Employers often assist in the design of the course, which may take place at the job site, at a convenient local venue, or on the Keene State campus.
Courses are typically developed to standards aligned with nationally recognized parameters for non-credit Continuing Education Units (CEUS), but can also be developed for the award of college credits.
EMPLOYERS: Employers who offer Customized Training courses as a paid employee benefit reap improved efficiency and job loyalty from a better trained, better educated work force.
EMPLOYEES: Employees gain new job skills, improved resumes, and an appreciation of education as a life-long experience - benefits directly tied to their employer.
How does Customized Training work?
Employers contact the Continuing Education Office to discuss course options.
Keene State designs the course, provides the appropriate professor, and schedules the course either at the KSC campus or at the job site.
Registration and all paperwork is handled through the Continuing Education Office.
