Gender, Work and Identity (ITW-101)
Work and Identity in Developing Countries Developing economies require urban facilities and service workers to cater to their rising class(es) and to serve international corporations and visitors, thereby creating new roles and hierarchies. Beginning with China as a case study, students in this course will consider globalization, changing societies, and the nature of work as they ask probing questions and learn more about service, migrant, and immigrant workers in developing countries around the world.
