Adv Topic-Perf Arts Criticism (IATAD-399)
For students who aspire to one day write theatre, film, or music criticism for print, radio, TV or internet. Students will attend performance events in and around the Keene community and write reviews. Reviews will be critiqued by peers as well as Faculty and then rewritten before posting in public. Video and Radio reviews will also be considered and aired when possible. This is an upper level course for serious students who want to work on their writing skills, evaluative sense, and critical eye. Critics are almost universally hated and that's because there are so many bad ones out there. The goal is to help to train good critics who can encourage creative artists to hone their art and craft by providing skillful, objective, and constructive criticism.
