Topics in Psyc (cognition) (ISPSYC-399)
This course will focus on the cognitive aspects of psychology--from the biological workings of the brain, through sensation perception, to theories of memory, language, thinking and problem solving. The course will also discuss the methods used to investigate how the mind works. Critical thinking will be stressed as discussions and readings are related to everyday life. The ethics of the study of cognition will also be addressed, including working with both animal and human subjects.
