Global Climate Change (ISGEOG-399)
This course examines the various ways that enhanced greenhouse gases will modify Earth's future climate. Students will explore atmospheric, oceanic and biological data to further their understanding about the potential impacts of climate change on Earth's physical and human environments. Students will read, summarize, and discuss key scientific articles relating to climate science. Geospatial data, visualization and analytical techniques are integral to the course, as students learn to use GIS as a tool for combining, analyzing and representing environmental data.
