The Beatles and Bob Dylan (IHHIST-399)

Students will explore the themes of race, class and gender as well as the anti-war movement and the sexual revolution through the music, lyrics and films of the Beatles and Bob Dylan. Each student will do a course-long research project exploring the political/cultural context of one album or film. Course readings will include biographies and critical examinations of both Dylan's and the Beatles' works.
