Grateful Dead (IHHIST-199)

Who are the Grateful Dead and why do they keep following me? This course locates the band and its followers (Deadheads) in historical context during the upheavals of the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Students will explore reactions to the Dead and what those reactions reveal about America in the late twentieth century.
