Co-Occurring Disorders (HLSC-490)
An introduction to co-occurring disorders: mental health and substance abuse/addictions. Topics include Axis I, Axis II mentalhealth disorders, and their co-existence with substance abuse disorders, theories, assessment and diagnosis, intervention and treatment, recovery and relapse prevention. Content is relevant for teachers, school counselors, mental health and substance abuse counselors. Course may be applied to Keene State's Substance Abuse/Addictions Option or Chemical Dependency Associates Degree. Final due two weeks from last class.
