Instructional Method: Discussion-based Seminar
Comments: Students will conduct field work and geologic map & ping at a vaiety of scales, in underground and & open pit exposures of the world famous, ecnomic & (fluorescent) Zn mineral deposits at Sterling & Hill. These exercises are designed to aid the & student in 3-dimensional visualization and under & standing of a geolocially complex setting. & Prerequisites: INGEOL 151 Physical Geology, & GEOL 301 Mineralogy (or concurrent enrollment), & Research Methods in Geology and one additional up & per level GEOL course. & Comments: The course will mett on Friday Septembe & r 13, 2013 for an introduction to the field area & and will conclude with a 3 day field excursion & Friday September 20 through Sunday September 22, & 2013. Transportation will be provided. Costs to & students, excluding meals and lodging, will be & $80.00 to cover the cost of the mine tour, museum & , discovery center, maps and books.
