Referred Learning ProgramsThe Referred Learning Programs (RLP) are evidence based, intervention programs. Students are usually referred to these programs, however students can choose to enroll themselves as well. RLP are facilitated by Health Practitioners from the Center for Health & Wellness and the Counseling Center. Alcohol Education Programs1. Under the Influence The “Under the Influence” program is a 3 hour online alcohol education course. This course assesses current behaviors though a self assessment tool (e-CHUG), educates students about alcohol and harm reduction techniques, and identifies on and off campus resources. You’ll need access to an internet connected computer and an email address. To complete this program, you must follow enrollment instructions and enter the correct control number. 1. Pay $50 for this program by visiting https://www.events.unh.edu/ksc/and clicking on “Referred Learning Program. Type in your name, phone number, student id, and choose “Under the Influence” for the program you were referred to. Add your payment information to complete transaction. 2. Register for this program by visitingwww.3rdmilclassrooms.com 3. Click on Begin Enrollment-College on the left side menu. 4. When you are directed, enter the control number- KSC7 You will receive a password immediately on the screen and by email. It takes about 3 hours to complete the course and you can log in and out as needed. You will receive an email 30 days after you complete the course reminding you to log in and complete the 15-minute follow-up. You will not receive your Certificate of Completion until you finish the course. Upon completion of the course, you and the Coordinator of Wellness Education will receive a completion notification by email. Print a copy for your records. CHOICES The “CHOICES” program is a brief alcohol abuse prevention program, consisting of an assessment, consultation, and journaling. Monadnock Adolescent Treatment Initiative (MATI) The “MATI ” Program is an initiative between two local organizations, The Phoenix House and the Youth Initiatives Program at Monadnock Family Services. MATI is an outpatient treatment and positive youth development program for teens and young adults with alcohol and drug problems. MATI provides ongoing outpatient attention and guidance to Monadnock area youth and their families in their own community. MATI enlists the skills and support of a Youth Coach who works with the teen on learning life skills. This includes identifying and participating in positive social activities and hobbies. MATI also assists teens and their family in learning effective communication skills around issues important to teens and their families. This course discusses marijuana’s effects on the brain, health issues, school and job performance, and the consequences and realities of using marijuana. This intervention course also includes the e-TOKE self-assessment. You’ll need access to an internet connected computer and an email address. To complete this program, you must follow enrollment instructions and enter the correct control number. 1. BASICS The “BASICS” program is a Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students who were in high risk situations and required special treatment, such as hospitalization or protective custody. This program consists of 7 educational requirements, which includes an initial meeting with the Coordinator of Wellness Education, a Wellness Check by the Nurse Practitioner, a 3hour online course, and three sessions with the Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor from the Counseling Center.
