Health Services

About Us

The Center for Health and Wellness- Health Services is an acute care clinic with a clinical staff comprised of two medical assistants, two registered nurses, two nurse practitioners and one part time physician. The administrative staff consists of an academic/student services assistant and director of the center.

The acute care clinic operates on an appointment-based system. To schedule an appointment, call 603-358-2450.

  • Services may include but are not limited to emergency evaluations, medical evaluations for sick students, GYN evaluations and exams, follow-up of care received at other locations, health education, counseling, and appropriate referral and assistance with concerns that may arise. We also provide laboratory tests and prescription medications if appropriate.

  • The cost of visits to the Center for Health and Wellness are covered under each student's health fee. If during a visit laboratory tests are ordered or prescription medications are dispensed, those costs are the responsibility of the student. The Center does not bill personal health insurance. These costs can be paid at the time of service through credit/debit cards or echeck. If the charges are not paid they will be placed on the student's account in the Bursar's Office. Students always have the right to refuse treatment that would incur these costs.

Lab tests

  • Laboratory services are provided on site. A partial list of the lab fees is listed below. We strive to keep these costs to a minimum.

  • In the event that you need laboratory work beyond the scope of our clinic, specimens are sent to Cheshire Medical Center laboratory for processing. Depending on your personal health insurance policy, you may be able to bill those tests directly to your insurance.
  • It is always helpful to discuss with your insurance company the scope of their coverage as it pertains to you as a student at Keene State College prior to your arrival on campus.
  • Laboratory work is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
