Keene State College has a long history of preparing exceptional occupational safety and health professionals. The job of the occupational safety and health professional is to anticipate, evaluate, and control hazards within the workplace to protect the health and safety of workers.

The graduate program in Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences provides a dynamic learning experience for occupational safety and health professionals seeking advanced study in the profession. The program includes research opportunities that apply course content exploring the emerging philosophical, technological, and managerial challenges facing today's safety and health professional. Graduates will possess essential competencies in writing, quantitative literacy, and critical and creative thinking, and develop the advanced management skills and technological expertise required to be successful leaders as occupational safety and health professionals in the private and public sector.

The Graduate Studies program will offer a stimulating environment that provides continued cultural and intellectual growth to safety professionals. The Safety faculty, in conjunction with well-qualified adjunct faculty, (faculty with an advanced degree and exceptional professional experience) will offer courses in a planned three-year cycle that allows realistic student planning for completion of degree requirements in two to three years. The three-year cycle includes fall, spring, and summer semesters. Courses will be scheduled in a format that will be compatible with the needs of working professionals, including weekend courses. Courses in the M.S. Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences will include a blended learning format incorporating both classroom meetings and online content.

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

Candidates for admission to the M.S. Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences must meet the requirements for graduate study at Keene State College and submit an Application for Graduate Study, including required materials to the KSC Admissions Office.
