The painting shown on the print edition cover and online was a gift to Judy Kallich, former director of advancement, from her husband, Richard Kalich. It commemorates Judy's first fund-raising project, the Appian Gateway entrance dedicated in the fall of 1998. The artist, Howard Hill of Walpole, N.H., took photographs from the middle of Main Street and then used four of the photos to form a collage for reference while he painted.
