Time and Place
The Nurse Pinning Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 1pm in the Mabel Brown Room of the L P Young Student Center. The event will be open to guests and details will be provided to the students for sharing with family and friends.
History of the Nursing Pin
The pin is a long-standing symbol of service to others, becoming common in the US in the early 1900s. Most recently, the pin has identified nurses as educated professionals who serve the health-related needs of society. It symbolizes entry into the nursing profession, provides proof of education, and represents both the art and science of nursing.
