Alumni, students, parents, and friends gathered on campus over the weekend of Oct. 19-20 for Homecoming and Pumpkin Festival, KSC's and the City of Keene's biggest celebration of the year. The festivities started Friday afternoon on Fiske Quad with the great Pumpkin Lobotomy. Students carved over 1900 jack o'lanterns and had a great time, undaunted by the occasional shower.
Saturday was a spectacular fall day, where magnificent cumulus clouds regularly made way for bright, warm sunshine. The Alumni tent on the front lawn of the Hale Building was always full of alumni and friends, enjoying free food and great jazz from the Saul Brothers Band.
Other great events included the Athletic/Alumni Golf Outing (at the, Keene Country Club), Women's Soccer vs. UMass-Boston (Owl Stadium) the Alumni Swimming/Diving Reunion, and the Alumni Rugby Reunion.
And, of course, there was all the activity downtown during Pumpkin Festival. Though the Alumni tent contributed several jack o'lanterns to the city's effort to reclaim its world title, there just weren't enough pumpkins to best the record. Wait 'till next year!
