Good food, good friends, good memories:

What's happening at the Luncheons?
Members of the KSC Golden Circle Society (for classes that graduated 50 or more years ago) met on Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Lily’s on the Pond restaurant in Rindge, N.H., for the 100th Golden Circle luncheon. Norma Wright Walker ’51, Golden Circle coordinator, chronicler, and hostess extraordinaire, was there, as always, with bell in hand, making sure everything ran smoothly and every one of the 62 guests was welcomed and recognized. KSC President Helen Giles-Gee presented Norma with a certificate thanking her for her excellent contributions to Keene State College, and Patty Farmer, Director of Alumni and Parent Relations, read the following poem (which sounded very much like the talent of someone who sits in the office directly at the top of the spiral staircase in Elliot Hall) in tribute to the value of Norma’s efforts:

To Norma Wright Walker, Class of 1951
A tribute to all you do and for the tradition of the Golden Circle luncheon

There is great wideness in her spirit - like the wideness of the sea
And her life reflects such kindness in faith, hope and charity

A dedicated worker and volunteer extraordinaire
Our Norma is so special - a friend beyond compare

The value in her outreach has Hall-of-Fame appeal
A tradition she created around a simple lunchtime meal

More than lunch, she visits, calls, writes, and radiates caring
We are grateful for her lessons, her great kindness and her sharing

Norma teaches all of us the very essence of our living
Going forth to serve, coming together, remembering and giving

Keene Normal School, Keene Teachers College - we just cannot measure
This legacy she created that we will always treasure

And now we're at 100 lunches and still going strong! You see,
She is our Alma Mater - living true to KSC
