Financial Aid For Nursing
In an effort to best support the blossoming Nursing Program here at KSC, we’ve dedicated this page to our Nursing Students to assist with the process of applying for and understanding financial aid. If you have any questions or need more information about the resources available to our Nursing students, please contact the Financial Aid Office directly.
Applying for Financial Aid
By applying to Keene State and completing the FAFSA, you are applying for most forms of financial aid. That’s all you need to do; the Financial Aid staff will get you all the aid you’re qualified to receive. This includes Grants and Scholarships, Federal and Institutional Loans, and the Federal Work Study Program.
An academic year at KSC traditionally runs Fall, Spring, Summer which means that one academic year and one FAFSA encompasses all three of these terms. For example, the 2015-2016 academic year represents the Fall ’15, Spring ’16 and Summer ’16 semesters. Students looking to apply for financial aid for the summer semester must have a FAFSA completed for the correct academic year.
Financial Aid Award Letters
Financial Aid is traditionally awarded to KSC students in a standard fall/spring format. Award Letters reflect the allocation of all forms of financial aid to each of these semesters.
Financial Aid for Summer
If you will be attending KSC during the summer semester to fulfill requirements of your program, you must contact the Financial Aid Office directly to ensure that you are awarded any aid you are eligible to receive in a timely manner.
Typically, fall/spring financial aid award letters reflect the maximum federal loan available. However, if a student will be enrolled during the summer semester at least half time (6 credits) and is progressing a grade level with the completion of the spring semester, he/she may be eligible for an additional subsidized/unsubsidized loan.
Eligibility for additional need-based grant aid is determined on a case-by-case basis and is reviewed and discussed during the recommended summer financial aid meeting all students enrolling in summer courses are encouraged to make.
Private Scholarship Opportunities
CampusRN has $15,000 in Scholarships available to Nursing & Allied Health students!!
Half-time (6) enrollment is required to participate in all loan programs at KSC. If you will be enrolled at least half time during any semester of your degree program, you are eligible to apply for loans to supplement your financial aid package to assist with both on-campus and off-campus expenses.
