Duties of Students within this classification:
*Provide individual and small group tutoring for Keene State College students in a variety of courses, with the exceptions of English writing (including ITW) and Math (including IQL), and BEST Program Courses. The highest demand areas are ISP and non-ISP Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology courses. Tutor applicants are sought for the following areas:
Anthropology, Architecture, Art History, Astronomy, Biology (including INBIO courses and Anatomy & Physiology I and II), Chemistry (including INCHEM 100, 103, 201), Communication, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Economics, Environmental Studies, Film, French (300-400 level mastery required), Geography (including ISGEOG 101, 203, 204), Geology (including INGEOL 100, 204), Health Science, History, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Journalism, Management, Nursing, Philosophy, Physical Education (including IIPE 310), Physics including INPHYS 199, 201), Political Science, Safety Studies (including INSAFE 103), Sociology, Spanish (300-400 level mastery required), Sustainable Product Design & Innovation.
Applicants must have an overall GPA of 2.75 (3.0 preferred), an A or B in the course(s) s/he is applying to tutor for, and associated faculty recommendation(s) for the course(s).
Candidates must possess effective communication skills, a sincere desire to help, and a high degree of patience.
Tutors are required to attend a Tutor Orientation upon hiring, as well as Tutor Training Sessions throughout the academic year.
