Help Desk Support Tech Assistant (Classroom Media Support)

Job will start this semester ($7.85/hour)

Duties of Students within this classification:

Student Technicians work with the Media Services team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve classroom technology related issues reported into the Helpdesk. Student technicians also deliver and pick-up technology equipment needed for academic classes, presentations, and campus events as well as provide basic training on that equipment. Technicians will also perform classroom technology 'sweeps' to ensure equipment in classroom media carts functions as designed. When not working with media services, students will support the IT Group Helpdesk providing technology assistance via phone/email or to walk-ins, log trouble tickets and provide assistance as needed within faculty/staff offices and residence halls.

Skills Needed: Outstanding customer service skills, ability to learn quickly, good problem solving skills, and ability to work independently. A basic knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, software, and PC hardware, outstanding customer service skills, a calm phone presence, the ability to listen and communicate effectively, the ability to learn quickly, good problem solving skills, and a desire to work cooperatively with students and staff in a professional environment.

Hours may vary 10-20 per week
