HelpDesk Support Technician

Help Desk Summer Tech - ONLY AVAILABLE TO SOMEONE WHO CAN CONTINUE THROUGH THE 2014/2015 ACADEMIC YEAR. HOURS REQUIRED FOR SUMMER WILL VARY FROM 35-40 PER WEEK. DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR HOURS WOULD NOT EXCEED 20 PER WEEK.

Duties of Students within this classification:

Student Technicians work in support of the Helpdesk to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technology related issues called/mailed into the Helpdesk. Your job is to answer phones, log trouble tickets, and troubleshoot technology related issues over the phone and/or within faculty and staff offices as well as students dormitories. Student technicians also deliver and pick-up technology equipment needed for academic classes, presentations, and campus events as well as provide basic training on that equipment.

SKILLS NEEDED: A basic knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, software, and PC hardware, outstanding customer service skills, a calm phone presence, the ability to listen and communicate effectively, the ability to learn quickly, good problem solving skills, and a desire to work cooperatively with students and staff in a professional environment.
