Monica M. Manning, Ph.D., is co-founder and Executive Officer of NovaLearning,
a fifteen-year-old education firm serving colleges and universities nationwide. Targeting
project which address areas of emerging educational and economic importance, Nova is dedicated
to the effective design of organizational strategies supporting college and community
collaboration in order to ensure today's institutions prepare their students and serve their
regions for tomorrow's world.
Skilled in the use of system-wide planning processes, Monica Manning is committed to helping
to create the new kinds of educational organizations that meet societal needs and that provide
people with the opportunity to develop and use their talents for productive, rewarding,
professional, and personal lives. With the purpose of supporting innovation in higher education,
Dr. Manning has worked with colleges and universities designing results-oriented, whole-system
strategic planning processes that help institutions integrate classroom, work-world and on-line
learning opportunities.
She began her career as a faculty member and later served as associate academic dean and dean
of continuing education. Prior to creating NovaLearning, she was the founding executive director
of the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Board. The Partnership has become the primary state
strategy to fund collaborations between higher education and industry. Dr. Manning received
Baccalaureate and Masters degrees from the University of Illinois in Rhetoric and Public Address,
Her Ph.D. is from the University of Minnesota in Higher Education
Lynn Priddy Rozumalski, Ph.D., has served as a NovaLearning Associate for
several years. She is the Director of Education and Training with The Higher Learning Commission
of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Higher Learning Commission is one
of the six regional accrediting agencies in the country committed to assuring and advancing the
quality of higher learning in colleges and universities for the common good.
Prior to joining the Commission in 1999, Lynn served in institutions as Vice President of
Institutional Planning, Effectiveness, and Advancement; Director of Research, Assessment, and
Development; and English/Composition faculty. Committed to accreditation as catalyst and partner
for learning and change in higher education, Lynn is passionate about helping institutions and
peer reviewers discover ways of thinking and working together systemically and culturally across
the organization to support the innovation, planning, and meaningful change that matters most,
that furthers the mission and vision, and that has the potential to make a significant difference
collectively.
Dr. Priddy Rozumalski began her education at Calvin College in Michigan, received her
baccalaureate degree in English and Education from the State University of New York and her
masters in Composition and Communication from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Her Ph.D.
is in General Education/Higher Education from Capella University with a focus on organizational
self-assessment, conversation, and innovation.
