Dr. Jay V. Kahn
Dr. Jay V. Kahn has been Vice President for Finance and Planning of Keene State College since 1988. He serves as the chief financial and administrative officer with a number of functions reporting to him including: budget planning, business services, student accounts, financial aid, technology services, institutional research, physical plant and auxiliary services. He convenes the College's Planning Council and Facilities Planning Committee. Over the past year, Dr. Kahn served as Keene State College's Interim President.
Prior to joining KSC, he was the Associate Vice President for Administration and Planning at Governors State University, University Park, Illinois, where he worked in various capacities from 1978 to 1988, and from 1973 to 1978 with the Illinois Board of Higher Education, last as Assistant Director for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Kahn received a BA degree from Northern Illinois University and MA and PhD degrees from the University of Illinois. Nationally, he serves as an at-large director to the Society for College and University Planning Board of Directors. Regionally, he is a Commissioner on the regional accreditation board, New England Association of Colleges and Universities, Higher Education Commission. Locally, he serves on the Cheshire Medical Center Board of Trustees, currently as chairman. At the state level, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the New Hampshire Workforce Investment Board.
He is the past-Chairperson of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, Comprehensive and Doctoral Institutions Council; a former chairman of the Monadnock Economic Development Board; and past-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Kahn has been awarded honorary membership in the American Institute for Architects-NH Chapter and is the recipient of the KSC Alumni's Outstanding Service Award.
