Degrees and Credentials:

B.A. summa cum laude, Anthropology, Queens College, C.U.N.Y.; M.Phil., Ph.D., Anthropology, Yale University

Professional Interests

I am interested in how people got to be the way that we are. The questions, who are we? where did we come from? are central for me. Specifically, I have dedicated myself to trying to understand those same questions relative to the Orang Asli, the indigenous peoples of Peninsular Malaysia. At the moment, I am focused on writing up ethnographic data I collected on shamanic practices in one Orang Asli culture.
