Aaron Taub ‘15

Aaron Taub

Percussionist Aaron Taub, a music performance major, has found many opportunities to learn from professionals through on-campus master classes.

“Last year we had Nancy Zeltsman, who’s one of the best marimba players. She’s really incredible, and she gave a great class. And this year we had Amy Garapic. I got to play for her and she gave me really awesome feedback on a piece I was working on,” he says. Other visiting musicians have talked about the composing process and graduate music programs.

“I recently had a recital where I played timpani and I played marimba,” he says. “And then in concert band I’ll play crash cymbals, suspended cymbals – all sorts of random percussion stuff. And I’m also in the Jazz Combo, where I play drum set. So whatever I want to play I get to play.”
