Welcome to the Department of Music at Keene State College!

Whether you hope to start a professional career in music education, performance, composition, or music technology, or pursue a liberal arts degree with a focus on music, the Music Department at Keene State College offers an enriching foundation for study in one of the seven original liberal arts, while offering many opportunities behind the scenes and on stage for students to explore their passion for music.

We believe that a strong liberal arts education, balanced with comprehensive training in music, will prepare music students for a purposeful and fulfilling life. Our department is committed to offering every music student an education based on a high-quality curriculum and excellence in musicianship. We are also dedicated to developing every student’s talents and perspectives.

The KSC Department of Music offers four Bachelor of Music degree programs – in music education, music performance, music composition, and music technology – as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree and a music minor. We offer courses for music majors and non-majors, numerous performing groups of all types, a dedicated team of music faculty, and many, many talented and friendly students! We are proud that all of our degree programs are fully accredited by the prestigious National Association of Schools of Music.
