Nona Fienberg received her Honors B.A. in English and History from the University of Toronto (University College) and her M.A. and Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Berkeley. She has taught at such institutions as Carleton College, The University of the South (Sewanee), Millsaps College, and Iowa State University. Since 1991 she has taught at Keene State College, where she served as Chair of the Department of English for eight years, and as Dean of Arts and Humanities and Professor of English for nine years. She has published widely in the fields of Renaissance Studies, Holocaust Literature, and higher education. She was a fellow in the Institute for the Study of Jewish Civilization and the Holocaust in June, 2013 at the University of London, Royal Holloway. In November, 2013, she presented an invited lecture at Jagiellonian University, Krakow: "Present! Reading Scenes of Instruction in Ghetto Testimony." At Keene State, she helped to create the Holocaust Studies Minor and the Holocaust and Genocide Studies Major, and has served on the Advisory Council of the Cohen Center for Holocaust Studies since its inception. In 2012, she joined the Holocaust and Genocide Studies Department, which offers the only undergraduate major in the field in the U.S.
