Alison Pantesco is passionate about teaching and encouraging her students to experience other cultures as she did living and studying in Germany and France. Selected by the Fulbright Commission, she participated in a teacher exchange with the Saldern-Gymnasium in Brandenburg, Germany and attended a workshop in Berlin with German teachers from around the world as a scholarship recipient of the Goethe Institute.
She collaborated with German instructors and German author Karin Gündisch, to produce teaching material for Gündisch’s novel, “Im Land der Schokolade und Bananen.” Pantesco was twice awarded the American Association of German Teachers’ Duden Award and has presented at the Maine Foreign Language Association, ACTFL and the Goethe Institute in Boston on the theme of using music in teaching German. She cherishes time with her family most of all and cannot imagine her life without music, travel and biking.
