Geography Students Share Their Experiences

“I really enjoyed my coursework in Human and Cultural Geography at Keene State. To supplement time in the classroom, I participated in two field studies courses; one in the US Desert Southwest (Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico) and the other in Quito, Ecuador, and its surrounding areas. Both experiences broadened my geographical perspective.
I was fortunate to be part of such a tight-knit department with true concern for their students. The knowledge I gained at KSC – along with the guidance from the geography faculty – motivated me to attend grad school.
I received a master’s degree in geography from the University of Victoria in British Columbia. For my thesis, I studied public park spaces built specifically for older adults to promote wellness and activity in old age.”
