Ted White

Ted White has over 25 years experience as a director and producer of documentary films. His work has been shown on PBS and the National Geographic Channel, and screened at museums, conferences and film festivals including: The San Francisco International Film Festival, Cork Ireland Film Festival, Toronto Environmental Film Festival, Athens Film Festival, International Ciclos Conference in Cuba and others. Prior to coming to Keene State, Ted worked at Film Arts Foundation, the largest west coast independent media arts center at the time. He also worked as a cinematographer on Outdoor Life Network’s series The Thin Green Line.

Ted is a recipient of the James D. Phelan award for filmmaking, a Special Jury Prize from The San Francisco International Film Festival, The Filmmakers Award from the Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Art (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art), and a Goldie Award for Media Activism.

In addition to film and media studies, Ted holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where his doctoral research on sustainable economies was funded by the National Science Foundation. He is a Fellow of the Leadership for a Sustainable Future Program.

Ted loves teaching at Keene State and applies his experience as a filmmaker and ethnographic researcher. Ted teaches Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced Film Production, Creative Digital Non-Fiction, Cinema and Diversity, and Career Development in Film and Media.
