Our Graduates

Our graduates are working in a variety of settings including: clinical dietetics, outpatient counseling, private practice, long-term care, Dairy Council, WIC, Cooperative Extension, schools and research.

Sarah Anderson, RD Nutrition Educator - class of January 2001

The internship prepared me very well for the job I do now. I got hands-on practice putting together presentations and interacting with a wide variety of age groups. As a health educator, I teach 6-7 classes per week. The internship allowed me to get the experience I needed to do this.

Robert Hoechster, RD Clinical Dietitian - class of January 2001

I found the internship to offer a wide variety of possible experiences within each rotation. I was able to explore areas of personal interest such as sustainable dietary practices, agriculture, and wild edible plants.

Karen Maciel, RD Clinical Dietitian - class of August 2000

I can't stress enough the benefit of an individualized program. When talking with other colleagues they wish they had the flexibility and individualization that I brag about getting at Keene.

Melinda Yunker, RD Nutrition Supervisor - class of August 1999

The Keene State Dietetic Internship laid a solid foundation for providing quality nutrition education and intervention to the community.

Julie Hieggelke, MS RD Nutrition Supervisor - class of January 2000

It has been helpful for me to explain the unique rotations and presentation/teaching experiences during my job interviews. I was asked specifically in one interview about evaluating classes that I had done.

Cary Houghton, RD Clinical Dietitian - class of January 2001

We are encouraged at Keene State to think "outside the box" which is very important.

Alison Thomas, RD Clinical Dietitian - class of August 2001

I feel I have developed a professional demeanor and excellent communications skills. Keene State has introduced me to new aspects of nutrition.

Christine Rueffert, RD Clinical Dietitian - class of August 2000

I feel that this program allows the intern time to adjust to what a "real" working environment is like and what the expectations of your employer will be when you enter the work force. This is a really independent internship but has the benefit of having very supportive and inspiring staff.

Sarah Platt, RD Nutrition Educator - class of January 2000

The job that I have requires me to work in a wide range of areas from health professionals to the media to dairy farmers and people of all ages. I feel that it was my varied internship experiences that qualified me for this job.
