Eligibility Check for Student Teaching

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50*
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in declared Liberal Arts major o
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in Program Option courses
  • C or better in all Program Option courses
  • “A “2-Meets Expectations” or an “3-Exceeds Expectations” must be achieved in the Summative Clinical Field Experience Evaluation form from Methods II, completed by instructor
  • “A “2-Developing” or a “3-Acceptable” must be achieved in the Dispositions Assessment form from Methods II completed by instructor
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50*
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in declared Content major
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in EDUC and EDSP courses
  • C or better in all EDUC and EDSP courses
  • “A “2-Meets Expectations” or an “3-Exceeds Expectations” must be achieved in the Summative Clinical Field Experience Evaluation form or applicable program-specific evaluation form from Methods II completed by instructor

Student Responsible for:

  • Completing and submitting Student Teaching Application ( in Tk20), including Personal/Professional Essay and Professional Resume
  • Submitting up-to-date MyKSC Program Evaluation, signed by advisor/s (for both majors, if applicable), including the completion of any Academic Waiver of Requirement or Course Substitution forms that pertain to courses listed on myKSC Program Evaluation.
  • Early Childhood /Elementary Ed/ /SPED: Students are expected to complete all declared Education major requirements before student teaching.
    Secondary: Students are expected to complete all Content major and all Education major requirements before student teaching, unless a major requirement is only offered during the student teaching semester.
    K-12 Programs: Students are expected to complete all declared major requirements before student teaching.

Students who apply for student teaching and have not completed all requisite requirements, must seek program approval.

Faculty Responsible for:

  • Field Experience Evaluation form from Methods II, 2nd Practicum, or 3rd Practicum completed by instructor
  • Field Experience Evaluation form from Methods II, 2nd Practicum, or 3rd Practicum completed by cooperating teacher
  • Dispositions Assessment from Methods II, 2nd Practicum, or 3rd Practicum completed by instructor
  • Dispositions Assessment from Methods II, 2nd Practicum, or 3rd Practicum completed by cooperating teacher.
