Job Description

Design & Development Assistant Part time.

The Design & Development Assistant will:

Assist in the seasonal execution of the EMS brand product for the softlines team. This person provides key support for the design/development team through collaboration, communication tool development, and assisting to manage the various projects needed to execute EMS softlines categories.

Assists in the development of seasonal trims through a working knowledge of illustrator and collaboration with outside design and existing internal design/development team.
Manages seasonal development deliverables inside the product creation timeline such as trim and color boards.
Will assist manage incoming designs from Freelance Designers and ensuring they are ready to be handed off accurately to development teams.
Helps to coordinate seasonal samples for design and tech design references as needed.
Maintains and creates seasonal color/story boards for Apparel/Outerwear/Accessories for cross functional teams in a timely manner.
Manages seasonal development line plans for information and accuracy for cross functional teams.
Will assist in the organization of seasonal color and the creation of internal color tools for cross functional teams.
Is part of weekly production meetings.
Maintains seamless communication with external freelance designers to assist in sending any communication needs, images, samples, WIP projects, and invoicing.
Assists in the collection of fabrics and trims for reference and internal tool creation.
Coordinates and helps with taking product images and detail images for clear communication and reference needs.
Assist in creating seasonal mood and direction boards for collections including fabrics, trims, and color.
Assists in ordering competitive samples as needed for seasonal references.
Due to the nature of some of these projects this coordinator can work off site particularly for design/illustrator projects that require focus and lack of interruption.

Job Requirements:
Detail oriented - enjoys organizing, creating order, and creating efficiency.
Roll up sleeves attitude and service oriented & humble (no divas please).
"Can Do", "Will find out", "How Can I help?" attitude.
Strong appreciation for design/color/fashion.
Strong knowledge or Adobe In-Design/Illustrator & Microsoft Office.
Ability to work in fast pace environment, identify needs of teams, and be proactive nature.
Ability to work independently and alongside teams.
Ability to work in an environment that is constantly evolving and comfortable with ambiguity.
