UMaine is looking for a candidate with tangible experience in safety management including evaluating health and safety risks, writing safety policies,
conducting training, and auditing safety compliance against campus policies and state regulations.
Only applicants with a Bachelor in Occupational Safety
or a combination of safety related education and experience (generally interpreted as five years) will be considered.
Demonstrated excellence in communication and organization skills are required. Ability to use computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) is required. In-State travel to off campus locations is required. Valid driver license required.
Position requires frequent contacts with administrators, faculty, graduate students, international visitors, and regulators, in an advisory or technical liaison role. Applicants must be able to perform physical tasks required to travel, conduct investigations, training, and audits. Appropriate background checks and physical exam required.
