What brought you to Keene State College?
The beautiful campus and the distance from home brought me to Keene State College. Keene Sate was a campus I could see myself at and learn at. The environment felt right for me and if I needed to go home, it is only and hour and a half away.
What keeps you at Keene State College?
This school is still the right environment for me. The professors are great to work with and the classrooms are easy to learn in. I also feel that because Keene State is a medium sized college you know a lot of people, but at the same time can always meet someone new which makes it an exciting campus even after four years. Overall, I would say the tight knit community and the people here keep me coming back! [Back to the top]

Name: Crystal Cyr
Major: Mathematics
Hometown: Waterville, Maine
What brought you to Keene State College?
I visited a friend who attended Keene State while I was in high school and immediately knew that this was the perfect school for me. Keene is very similar to my hometown in Maine but the important thing was that it wasn't my hometown! The atmosphere and people were warm and friendly and the campus was beautiful. Keene was also the only school that I applied to because even after looking at many other colleges, I knew that none could offer me what KSC could!
What keeps you at Keene State College?
EVERYTHING!! Being a senior and looking back on my time spent here, KSC has made me who I am today and my love for Keene State has grown just as much as I have. But my favorite thing about KSC is how easy it is to get involved with clubs, organizations, academics and events on campus. I am a firm a believer in the idea that things are what you make of them and because of my involvement in my major, the orientation program, the dance team, peer advising, the student center and other various offices on campus; Keene State has given me the best years of my life! Name: Patricia DaSilva
Major: Elementary Education/Special Education and Spanish
Hometown: Narragansett, Rhode Island
What brought you to Keene State College?
I came to Keene State College because I felt at home the second I stepped onto campus. The students and campus gave off great vibes and Main Street is so beautiful. I knew I wanted to attend a Liberal Arts college and at KSC knew that I could concentrate on my majors and also have the opportunity to take a variety of classes and develop new interests.
What keeps you at Keene State College?
I still love Keene State as much as I did the first day I visited. I've been very happy with all my academic programs and have had some amazing opportunities. Campus life here is awesome! If you take advantage of all that it has to offer it will introduce you to people who will become your best friends, and take you places you never imagined! I couldn't have picked a better place. Name: Tracy Gray
Major: Physical Education Teacher Certification
Hometown: Hollis, New Hampshire
What brought you to Keene State College?
I came to Keene State because I was immediately drawn to the campus. I loved everything about it-its location, size and aesthetic appeal. I loved seeing everyone out and about having fun with friends. Instantly, I knew Keene was for me. Not only did I love the look of KSC but they offered my major-PE! The facilities I saw on my tour sold me to the college-a recreation center, big dining commons, and rather decent living opportunities in the residential halls. I had a really good hunch that I would fit in here-and I did!
What keeps you at Keene State College?
There's never a dull moment in Keene, and I think that's what keeps me here. No matter how bored I am there is always something going on-events in the NOC, friends to visit and places to go shopping. Staying connected to the campus and keeping busy is another reason why I love it here. I have met so many new people just by getting involved! I joined clubs like PE Club, Biology Club, Residential Life, Women's Rugby and I play intramural sports. The friends I have met through these various clubs are why I am content at Keene State and the reason I return every year! [Back to the top]

Name: Curt Guild
Major: Chemistry/Physics, Secondary Education
Hometown: Essex Junction, Vermont
What brought you to Keene State College?
I applied to Keene for the low tuition and education programs, but I chose it over my other schools for its hometown atmosphere and great student body. There's lots to do around Keene that's a great distraction from working and studying-great restaurants, first rate sports, awesome parties, exciting on-campus events-the list goes on and on. The new facilities and growing curriculum was also a major motivator-a new graphic design center, freshly refurbished resident halls, and a gym and weight room in near-flawless condition. Keene to me is a growing metropolis, and at the moment, it looks pretty sweet to me.
What keeps you at Keene State College?
The faculty here at Keene are excellent at keeping in touch with students, more so than a lot of other colleges I've visited. The one-on-one interaction-as well as having classmates down the hall who are in/have taken your class-makes for a great learning environment. Also, I've made a lot of friends here at KSC, and I wouldn't miss the barbeques or Halo 3 tournaments for another school. [Back to the top]

Name: Amanda Ruest
Major: Psychology and Sociology
Hometown: Hampton Falls, New Hampshire
What brought you to Keene State College?
When I toured the campus for the first time I heard the 12 o'clock bells and turned to my mom and said "I want to go here." Throughout the tour I imagined myself living here and it felt just right. The academic program I was interested in was offered, there were student activities for me to get involved in and there were not a lot of kids from my high school. The perfect place to start a new level of my life. It was the last school acceptance letter I received and it was nerve racking but it all definitely paid off in the end.
What keeps you at Keene State College?
In a word, relationships. The people, the organizations and projects that I'm involved in not only keep me busy throughout the school year, but I know that all of the relationships that I have made will follow to support me throughout my post-KSC journey. The connections that I have made with other students as well as faculty and staff members are irreplaceable and I appreciate them more than anything else. It would be nearly impossible to function as a college student without the support of my peers, professors and advisors (academically and socially). [Back to the top]

Name: Katie Vaillancourt
Major: English with a psychology minor
Hometown: Derry, New Hampshire
What brought you to Keene State College?
I was really drawn to Keene State because it wasn't too far from home or too close. The campus was about the size of my high school so it wouldn't be too overwhelming and even though quite a few students from my HS ended up at Keene, it wasn't like UNH where nearly 25% went. I also planned to room with my best friend from 2nd grade so the fact that we both liked it was a good start. Oh ya, and it was the only school I applied to...so I didn't exactly have another option.
What keeps you at Keene State College?
If you want a shorter answer...ask me what doesn't keep me at Keene State! Seriously though, I couldn't imagine getting my undergraduate anywhere else. I remember my freshmen year thinking that things couldn't get any better, and now looking back from my senior year, I have accomplished more than I even remotely expected, all because I got involved and didn't let anything stop me. Keene State is a place where not only do other people respect me for who I am, but I have learned to respect others for who they are and most importantly...I've learned to respect myself and cherish the person I am becoming. (And play Rugby!!! Because well...what other sport can you squirrel dive and tackle people for fun?) [Back to the top]
